Lacan's teaching on anorexia insists on the anorexic rejection as the subjective stratagem of separation vis-ˆ-vis the asphyxiating proclivity of the demand of the Other. Actually, the anorexic's "to eat nothing" is molded as a means to dissociate desire from demand so as to differentiate the Other of love from the Other of caring. Here anorexia acquires a trans-clinic value that points to a subjectivation movement from the subject itself who by way of the refusal to the demand of the Other ("Eat!") is able to establish a difference with respect to the Other...
