GIORGIO AGAMBEN is the Italian philosopher who teaches at the Università IUAV di Venezia. His most influential work Homo Sacer: Sovereign Power and Bare Life develops the analysis of the condition of biopolitics, Agamben rejects the thesis that the historical rise of biopower marked the threshold of modernity. Instead, he claims that biopower and sovereignty are fundamentally integrated. He contributes to Lacan dot com with Terrorism or Tragicomedy.

MARIA CRISTINA AGUIRRE practices psychoanalysis in New York City. She is the editor of the on-line journal Lacanian Compass. She contributes to The Symptom, Issue 10 with The Refusal of the Language of the Other.

JORGE ALEMÁN is a psychoanalyst, member of the WAP - World Psicoanalisis Association. He lives and works in Madrid. MARTIN HEIDEGGER was rector at the University of Freiburg from 1933 to 1934.
